NHRC has acted where Minorities Commission has failed

Constituted after National Minority Commission,
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has acted
where NMC has failed. During the Gujarat riots the
role of the NCM was played by the NHRC, which lost no
time in criticizing the Gujarat Government for its
dubious role in the ethnic cleansing. Thousands of
Muslims were killed, women raped and their property
looted by RSS goons following the alleged burning of
kar sevaks on the Sabramati Express in Godhra.
