Indian Law Society's Law College, Pune

The Indian Law Society's Law College, known as ILS Law College is a law school and legal institution based in Pune India. It was established in 1924 and offers a wide range of courses, primarily the three year old law course and five year degree.

The Indian Law Society was established in on 4 March 1923 as a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Societies Registration Act. The Society established the eponymous Law College with an objective to provide facilities for the study of law on a scientific basis.

The college was initially affiliated to the University of Bombay but with the founding of the University of Pune in 1949, the college became a constituent of the latter.

ILS has produced many notable legal luminaries, and also houses some of the well-known legal faculty in India.

The Law College has the largest law library in Asia. Housed on a separate floor of the Sarswati building, the ILS library contains 45,000 books and volumes of periodicals, journals and magazines.

The ILS campus is situated on a hill, and is spread over 195 acres (0.79 km2) of thick foliage.
