National Law University of Delhi (University of Law) established in 2008 by Act No.1 of 2008 of National Capital Territory of Delhi and with the initiative of High Court of Delhi is another Law University in the list of premier law Universities established in India. The vision of the University is to create a Global Legal Institution which will compete with the best outside India and to prepare Lawyers for a legal career that introduces them to wide range of opportunities in legal profession across the globe. The University's State of Art infrastructure is near completion at Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi with all facilities for best of learning and research. The University initially offers a 5-year integrated B.A., LL.B (Hons.) Degree Programme with effect from the Academic Year 2008-09 starting in August, 2008
National Law University, Delhi is the newest addition to the already existing network of National Law Universities throughout the Country. NLU, Delhi also shares the broader vision of providing quality legal education in order to produce new generation of lawyers that are competent and humane. The academic curriculum is designed to enable the budding lawyers to deal with, equal ease, the legal system of the country as well as the legal systems of the world in order to meet the challenges facing the global society.
The University ensures to endeavor to bridge the wide gap between the theory and practical application of concepts through a learning process which is stimulative, participative and multi-disciplinary. NLUD will ignite and nurture the spirit of inquiry. The physical infrastructure developments on the campus will be in tune with the rapid progress on the academic front. Keeping in view, what Mahatma Gandhi said, “We must become the change we want to see in the world,” University sincerely intend to achieve the goal of making legal education as an instrument of social, political and economic change.
