UP begins e-scholarship for timely payment

Lucknow, September 2: In a first, the Uttar Pradesh government has
implemented an e-scholarship programme to ensure timely payment of
scholarships to over two crore students. Under this, the scholarships
will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the students
electronically.

Lucknow, Sept 1: To promote e-governance and help public get
information on-line, the Uttar Pradesh government today launched
websites for 33 departments.

Besides the new websites, 13 other existing websites, refurbished by
National Informatics Centre (NIC), were also inaugurated by the chief
secretary Prashant Kumar Misra, principal secretary Information
Technology V.N. Garg told reporters.
