Lawyer complaint against judge

Nagpur, Oct 26: A Nagpur lower court judge has been accused of outraging the modesty of a law graduate in his chamber here on Thursday.

A complaint against the judge has been made to the senior administrative judge of the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court, Justice Dilip Sinha, as also to district judge T B Nalawade.

According to sources, the incident took place in the chamber of the judge on the district court premises, when the young law graduate went there to meet him with one of her senior colleagues Prakash Thombre, a former lower court judge himself.

Nagpur bench of Bombay High court issues notice to EC

NAGPUR: The Nagpur bench of the Bombay high court on Friday issued a notice to the Election Commission of India on a petition by corporator Sandip Joshi. Joshi challenged the EC’s new notification of cancelling the old voters list and adopting a new procedure for graduate constituency assembly polls to be held in June 2008.

A division bench comprising justices Ambadas Joshi and R C Chavan, while directing the respondents to file a reply, fixed the petition for final disposal on October 31.
